Sherry RaineyLocal President, Central Mississippi
Sherry Rainey oversees the agency's office located in Jackson, and is responsible for marketing and fund-raising activities in the region.
Prior to joining the agency in 2008, Rainey was director of community outreach for the American Red Cross where she coordinated and developed plans for volunteer-based services. She also served as Community Advocacy Representative for the American Cancer Society. There, she developed support for community health programs and local policy campaigns, including the existing Smoke-free Air Ordinance in Jackson.
Rainey is a past recipient of the American Cancer Society's Staff Person of the Year Award for Mississippi. She was also a winner of the American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division, and Accommodation of Excellence award.
Rainey lives in Madison and is a graduate of Mississippi State University.
