CCCS of Atlanta approved as National Reverse Mortgage Counseling Intermediary by HUDWednesday, April 08, 2009
Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Greater Atlanta has been approved as a national reverse mortgage counseling intermediary by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As a result, each reverse mortgage lender in the U.S. will be required to provide their new clients a list of counseling agencies that includes CCCS of Greater Atlanta.
Every homeowner in the U.S. seeking a reverse mortgage must receive counseling from a HUD-approved, AARP-certified nonprofit credit counseling agency. Reverse mortgage lenders are required to provide clients with a list of 10 counseling agencies to choose from, including five national intermediaries designated by HUD, and five randomly selected HUD-approved agencies with offices in the client's local geography.
"The new HUD designation gives reverse mortgage lenders an additional national nonprofit counseling agency that can provide their clients with professional counseling in a timely manner," said Suzanne Boas, president of Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Atlanta. "Homeowners coming to our agency can receive all of the information they need to fully understand all aspects of a reverse mortgage."
With 24/7 customer service and counseling available by telephone in English and Spanish, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Atlanta is able to provide quality assistance to more seniors who are contemplating a reverse mortgage. The agency also provides a dedicated web site with information and resources specific to reverse mortgages at www.CredAbility-reverse.org.
Homeowners in all 50 states can schedule a reverse mortgage counseling session with CCCS of Greater Atlanta by calling our dedicated reverse mortgage counseling phone number, 866.616.3716.
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Atlanta is one of the largest nonprofit reverse mortgage counseling agencies in the country. It has more than 30 certified and experienced reverse mortgage counselors who are available seven days a week to conduct a counseling session. Due to the increased demand for reverse mortgages, the organization plans to hire additional counselors this year.
All reverse mortgage counselors with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Atlanta hold college degrees and have passed certification classes held by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).
